The CLI now speaks English. modem version prints the binary's version. Reconnect codes from the site last 60 minutes. The install script is served from usemodem.dev/dl, and onboarding is linked from the home page.

1 August 2026, Accounts and self-service computers

modem setup: device-code login, then a computer provisioned automatically: its own micro-VM, disk and token, ready in about fifteen seconds. Invite-only.

31 July 2026, Files, and a calmer terminal

push, pull and files move work in and out. Login URLs from remote agents open in the local browser. Scrolling, resizing and reconnection behave like a local terminal. modem alone became a status view.

30 July 2026, Close your laptop

Computers stay awake while an agent works and suspend once it stops, verified with an eight-minute job running with nobody connected. Wake measured under a second. Hard timeout on every job.

28 July 2026, First detachable session

The prototype: an agent running in a remote terminal, detached, then reattached with its screen and state intact.
