What Modem stores, what it never sees, and where it runs.

What we store

• Your email and the date you joined, so the account exists.
• Your computer's metadata: its identifier, its access token, its state and its size.
• Operational logs from the platform, requests, errors, wake-ups, kept short and used to fix things.

No analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts on this site.

What we never see

• Your agent credentials. You log in to Claude, Codex or GitHub from inside your own computer; those tokens are written to its disk, not to ours.
• The content of your work. Files, repositories, prompts and outputs live on your computer's volume. We do not read them and we do not copy them elsewhere.
• Your payment details. There is no payment yet; when there is, a payment provider will handle the card.

Where it lives

Computers and the control plane run on micro-VMs in Paris, in the EU. Disks are encrypted at rest, and traffic between your terminal and your computer is TLS end to end. Each account gets its own machine, volume and token, nothing is shared between accounts.

Your agents talk to other people

When you run Claude or Codex on your computer, your prompts and files go to that provider under your own account and their terms. Modem does not sit in the middle of those calls.

Deleting

Ask, and your account, your computer and its volume are destroyed, email dom@fabriquestudio.fr and it is done, along with anything else you want to know about your data. During the alpha this is a person, not a form.

Changes

This page will get longer and more formal as Modem grows. Material changes will be announced to alpha users by email before they take effect. Last updated 3 August 2026.
